Eural Joins Tornos at SIMODEC with 2033 LEAD FREE

March 1st, 2026

At SIMODEC, taking place from March 2nd to 6th, 2026 in La Roche-sur-Foron, France, Eural joins Tornos Technologies France as a guest partner in a collaboration focused on innovation and the progressive transition toward lead-free materials.

The 2033 LEAD FREE aluminium alloy will be at the core of the initiative, featured in live machining demonstrations on the Swiss XT32, the flagship model that the Swiss manufacturer will officially present during the exhibition. This synergy combines metallurgical expertise and process technology, delivering a practical demonstration of the alloy’s application potential in a real production environment.

During the live trials at Stand (A16, Hall A), visitors will be able to assess the material’s in-machine performance: thin and controlled chip formation, high surface quality after turning, and stable operation even in high-productivity cycles. The components produced throughout the demonstrations will provide tangible evidence of the alloy’s performance, highlighting its reliability in the most demanding machining processes.

Developed through intensive research and development, 2033 LEAD FREE alloy by Eural combines high mechanical strength (Rm ≥ 370 MPa) with good responsiveness to surface treatments and welding. Its complete absence of lead and tin also represents a concrete response to evolving European regulations, including the imminent phase-out of lead driven by the RoHS Directive. In this context, 2033 positions itself as a solid and technically advanced alternative to alloy 2011, ensuring production continuity without compromising machinability while offering improved anodizing performance and enhanced weldability.

SIMODEC will therefore provide an opportunity to explore first-hand the application advantages of the 2033 LEAD FREE alloy and to engage with Eural’s technical experts on increasingly sustainable and efficient solutions.
